The Inside Scoop: Which High-End Bedding Brand Is Worth The Splurge?

I found the comfiest comforter, period.

main

I found the perfect comforter.

When I get good rest, everything else in life feels better. But can your bedding actually change the way you sleep?

I put 4 popular brands to the test: Cozy Earth, Miracle Made, Cariloha, and THXSILK.

The results surprised me, but I took plenty of notes for you.

Material

main

I’m obsessed with soft things. That feeling I get when I slide into bed totally makes or breaks my vibe for the night.

Each brand’s material is unique and has its own feel. Here’s my breakdown:

Cozy Earth

You know that involuntary sigh you make when you feel something super soft? Cozy Earth makes me do it every night. Their 100% bamboo viscose fabric seriously helped me sleep better from night 1.

Miracle Made

NASA-inspired fabric made of silver-infused eucalyptus lyocell that naturally prevents up to 99.7% of bacteria growth. Whew, that was a mouthful. But this comforter definitely makes my bed feel like an oasis: the eucalyptus is very soft to the touch.

Cariloha

A good runner-up to Cozy’s bamboo viscose, and definitely softer than traditional cotton. If budget is your primary concern, Cariloha will still feel like an upgrade.

THXSILK

Just saying the words “silk comforter” makes me feel like royalty. The shell is 100% cotton with a 100% silk filling. The cotton gives THXSILK’s comforter a familiar, classic feel.

Comfort

main

What good is a “comforter” if it can’t keep you comfortable?

With temperatures dropping, I need bedding that keeps me cozy without trapping me in a pool of sweat.

Cozy Earth

Cozy Earth is the perfect blend of warm and breathable, keeping me sound asleep until my alarm. No kicking off the covers in a sweaty mess. No waking up freezing minutes later. It also had the most soothing weight, making me feel cocooned as I fell asleep.

Miracle Made

The silver woven into Miracle Made’s eucalyptus fabric naturally dissipates body heat, making this comforter super cooling. I’d definitely choose it if I was a chronically hot sleeper.

Cariloha

Like Cozy, Cariloha’s bamboo viscose is much more breathable than traditional cotton. I also liked that they have a “light loft” option for people who don’t like feeling too swaddled (my son appreciated that feature).

THXSILK

The 100% silk filling makes this comforter moisture-wicking and hypoallergenic, but you’ll need both the summer (lighter) and winter (heavier) styles to maintain the perfect sleeping temperature year-round.

Durability

main

Let’s be real: I do way more than just sleep in my bed. And the more action my bedding gets, the more it needs to be washed.

All of that gets rough on fabric. If I invest in a comforter, I really need it to last.

Cozy Earth

Considering how unbelievably soft Cozy’s fabric feels, I didn’t expect it to feel so sturdy, too. I invested in their bamboo duvet cover (it made my bed look so chic), and both the cover and comforter look brand new after months of use. No pilling or disintegrating here!

Miracle Made

Removing the chore of washing was a stroke of genius. Okay, you still have to clean Miracle Made’s comforter sometimes (I’m not nasty), but the anti-bacterial magic lets you go months between washes. Longer-lasting and less work? Yes please!

Cariloha

Sturdy, solid construction that will hold up well if you need a cheaper option than Cozy Earth. Still definitely one of the better comforters I’ve slept on in my life.

THXSILK

Real mulberry silk feels like absolute luxury, but it also may be more delicate and require special care besides just dry cleaning. If you have the time and energy, the silk experience may be worth it for you.

Sustainability

main

With all the shady stuff companies try to pull these days, I really want to buy products that I feel good about.

It’s always a relief when a brand works to earn my trust and I don’t have to wonder (or worse, find out bad things later).

Cozy Earth

I expected Cozy Earth’s eco-friendly claims to just be an asterisk that says “organic.” But their website took me on a whole journey from jungle to mattress, and the transparency was super refreshing. Even more impressive, they also build close relationships with the workers involved in every step of production. Sustainability really is a core value of Cozy Earth’s brand.

Miracle Made

Eucalyptus lyocell fabric is definitely more sustainable than traditional cotton. However, Miracle Made doesn’t explicitly focus on it. But I still feel more confident purchasing from them than traditional department stores.

Cariloha

Cariloha is clearly passionate about using bamboo viscose to save the planet. Their site gives a good explanation of how purchasing their products positively impacts ecosystems. Unfortunately, I didn’t find any information about supply chains or worker relations.

THXSILK

Both cotton and silk production are really rough on the environment. While THXSILK isn’t less sustainable than the average bedding company, they’re not a standout.

Popularity

main

Oprah knows more about comfort and luxury than I ever will. And when she picks a brand over and over, I’m crazy if I don’t try them.

Not only does Oprah adore Cozy Earth products, but so does everyone else—they have over 50,000 5-star reviews.

I’m glad I tested them myself, but I didn’t need to. They definitely lived up to the hype.

Verdict

Cozy Earth covers basically everything I own, from my mattress to my couch to my feet. It really gives me a safe-haven feeling that I crave whenever I come home.

All of these brands have something to offer, and each home is unique. As for my ideal bedding, Cozy Earth is a clear winner.

I can’t recommend them enough!
