I found the perfect pajamas.
There’s nothing like putting on an amazing pajama set. Soft, cozy, and effortlessly sexy, pajamas are the easiest way to instantly improve your mood. But can good pajamas actually improve your sleep?
I put 4 popular brands to the test: Cozy Earth, Cariloha, Trina Turk, and Garnet Hill.
The results surprised me, but I took plenty of notes for you.

Material

I’m obsessed with soft things. That feeling I get when I slip into pajamas after a long day can totally make or break my night.
Each brand’s material is unique and has its own feel. Here’s my breakdown:
Cozy Earth
You know that involuntary sigh you make when you feel something super soft? Cozy Earth makes me do it every night. Their organic bamboo viscose fabric might be the softest, smoothest thing I’ve ever felt. Any moment I’m at home, I’m in my Cozy Earth PJ’s.
Trina Turk
There’s a reason they say “smooth as silk.” Trina Turk’s 100% silk sets are to die for—they’re smooth, glossy, breezy, and simply gorgeous. I feel like royalty everytime I put them on.
Cariloha
A good runner-up to Cozy’s bamboo viscose, and definitely softer than traditional cotton. If budget is your primary concern, Cariloha will still feel like an upgrade.
Garnet Hill
Garnet Hill is my go-to for classic, 100% cotton flannel pajamas. These are the PJ’s I grew up wearing, and just slipping into them gives me cozy nostalgia every time.

Comfort

Even if they feel soft to the touch, truly great pajamas need to feel amazing on your body.
With temperatures dropping, I need PJ’s that keep me cozy without trapping me in a pool of sweat.
Cozy Earth
Cozy Earth is the perfect blend of warm and breathable, keeping me sound asleep until my alarm. Bamboo viscose naturally regulates temperature, keeping you multiple degrees cooler than cotton. I felt perfectly cozy and never woke up hot or sweaty.
Trina Turk
Silk is light, airy, and breathable. It feels deliciously smooth and regulates temperature well (definitely more than cotton). However, it doesn’t necessarily make me feel warm and cozy, especially because I’m partial to the sexier chemise styles.
Cariloha
Like Cozy, Cariloha’s bamboo viscose is much more breathable than traditional cotton. Again, this is my budget-friendly recommendation for a good experience at a lower cost.
Garnet Hill
The 100% silk filling makes this comforter moisture-wicking and hypoallergenic, but you’ll need both the summer (lighter) and winter (heavier) styles to maintain the perfect sleeping temperature year-round.

Skin Health

What you wear matters, especially when you sleep. Body acne, eczema, rashes, and odor can all be affected by your pajamas.
Here’s how each brand interacted with my body chemistry:
Cozy Earth
The natural breathability of Cozy Earth bamboo viscose helps to keep skin smooth and dry. Eliminating the sweaty mess helped keep bacteria at bay! I woke up feeling cleaner and fresher than ever.
Trina Turk
Real silk is the gold standard for hypoallergenic, skin-boosting fabric. Silk is ultra-gentle on skin and hair. I love it for my sensitive skin: it caressed me from dusk ‘til dawn, and when I woke up, my skin and hair looked so good.
Cariloha
Carolioha’s bamboo viscose naturally banishes moisture, odors, and allergens.
Garnet Hill
Because they use organic cotton, Garnet Hill’s fabric is healthier for your skin than the average department store pajamas. While not a standout, I feel very comfortable sleeping in these pajamas and knowing my skin is being cared for.

Sustainability

With all the shady stuff companies try to pull these days, I really want to buy products that I feel good about.
It’s always a relief when a brand works to earn my trust and I don’t have to wonder (or worse, find out bad things later).
Cozy Earth
I expected Cozy Earth’s eco-friendly claims to just be an asterisk that says “organic.” But their website took me on a whole journey from jungle to mattress, and the transparency was super refreshing. Even more impressive, they also build close relationships with the workers involved in every step of production. Sustainability really is a core value of Cozy Earth’s brand.
Trina Turk
Silk production is notoriously rough on the environment. While Trina Turk isn’t less sustainable than the average clothing company, they’re not a standout.
Cariloha
Cariloha is clearly passionate about using bamboo viscose to save the planet. Their site gives a good explanation of how purchasing their products positively impacts ecosystems. Unfortunately, I didn’t find any information about supply chains or worker relations.
Garnet Hill
Like silk, cotton production is harsh on the planet. It uses lots of water and complex processing. However, their organic process reduces the carbon footprint, chemical byproducts, and environmental impact.

Popularity

Oprah knows more about comfort and luxury than I ever will. And when she picks a brand over and over, I’m crazy if I don’t try them.
Not only does Oprah adore Cozy Earth products, but so does everyone else—they have over 50,000 5-star reviews.
I’m glad I tested them myself, but I didn’t need to. They definitely lived up to the hype.
Verdict
Cozy Earth covers basically everything I own, from my mattress to my couch to my feet. It really gives me a safe-haven feeling that I crave whenever I come home.
All of these brands have something to offer, and every person is unique. As for my ideal pajamas, Cozy Earth is a clear winner.
I can’t recommend them enough!
